Land Acquisition Map
(property purchased as of March 7, 2007)
Land acquisition is critical to the future development and expansion of Northern
Kentucky University in order to support the growth of its educational programs. The
University began its property acquisition initiative in 1990 when nearly all of the
University's usable land holdings on the Highland Heights campus had been developed.
In 1992, the Land Acquisition Study was completed which proposed a 2010 boundary for the
Highland Heights campus and identified and prioritized 63 areas of acquisition.
Since 1990, 41
priority parcels have been acquired for a total of 154 acres, to bring
the total acreage of the Highland Heights campus from 244 acres to 397 acres.
The additional acreage will support land intensive uses, such as parking and recreation
fields, as well as provide space for future development and expansion of the campus.
