Northern's main campus is located along US 27, seven miles southeast
of Cincinnati, Ohio. Northern's location places it in the largest metropolitan area
of all the state universities in Kentucky. Groundbreaking for the Highland Heights
campus was March 31, 1971. Open house was held October 29, 1972. Northern's move to the
Highland Heights campus was completed basically on schedule in late July, 1972. |

This
campus consists of two permanent and five temporary facilities. The campus was purchased
from the University of Kentucky in 1968 and housed the Chase College of Law until 1982
when Chase moved to Nunn Hall on the Highland Heights campus. Since then, the classrooms
and offices have continued to be used. Classes offered at the Covington Campus have
included introductory level and survey courses in mathematics, literature, history,
sociology, etc. Graduate level courses in education and business and Continuing Education
and community service activities have been offered as well. |
