INTRODUCTION
I would like to
extend to you greetings from the Northern Kentucky University Police Department.
The University is dedicated to providing a safe, secure and crime-free
environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors to the NKU Grant County
Center (Williamstown, KY). This brochure is a way to inform students, Faculty,
staff, and visitors to security procedures. Please read it carefully.
Any student,
faculty, staff member, or visitor can report potential criminal actions or other
emergencies. The emergency telephone number to the Williamstown Police
Department is 911. If an emergency occurs during non-class time, the caller
should still contact the Williamstown Police Department through 911. The
non-emergency number is 859-824-3353. In event an individual prefers to report a
criminal offense to someone other than the Williamstown Police Department,
he/she has the option of reporting the situation to either the NKU University
Police Department, 859-572-5500 or the Vice President for Administration and
Finance, Room 816 Lucas Administrative Building, telephone 859-572-5125. If they
prefer, they may contact the Office Coordinator for the Grant County Center at
859-824-3600.

Access to
Campus Facilities
The NKU Grant
County Center is a special partnership between the Grant County Foundation for
Higher Education and Northern Kentucky University. It houses NKU educational
programs and the Williamstown Innovation Center. The Center’s building and
grounds are available to students, staff, faculty, their guests or to University
guests or contractors with reason to enter for activities that are officially
approved.
University
classes are held Monday thru Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. When
classes are in session the Grant County Center is open Monday thru Thursday from
8:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for normal
business. Other times may be available by appointment. When classes are not in
session the Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The
Center is closed Saturday and Sunday. Holiday hours or schedule changes will be
posted within the building in advance.
Maintenance
of Campus Facilities
The facilities
and landscaping are maintained to minimize conditions that might pose a danger.
Access to a ramp is available for entrance into the Center. Malfunctioning
lights and other unsafe conditions should be reported to the Office Coordinator
for the Grant County Center at (859) 824-3600.

Center Community Education
While no crime
prevention programs are offered at the Grant County Center, students, faculty,
and staff are encouraged to contact the University Police Department (859)
572-1917 for information about existing programs offered at the Highland Heights
campus.
Crime Alerts
are posted throughout the building in the event of a serious incident that may
pose a threat to the campus community, and additional information regarding
security regulations is available in the Center’s Administrative Office.
