Dispo: Male subject advised that his hand was stuck in a VCR.  Responding officer was able
to free the subjects hand.  The subject refused a squad or any further assistance.  There was no
damage noted to the VCR.  Case closed....

Dispo: Campbell County Police Dispatch advised that they had an intrusion alarm at the listed
location and
requested D.P.S. assistance.  Upon arrival D.P.S. Officers discovered a male 
employee of the school exiting the building.  I.D. of the subject was verified.  Campbell County
Dispatch was advised and the scene was cleared.  Case closed....

Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire Alarm was received via the ESUSA Computer from the listed location.  Upon
arrival responding officers verified that audible alarms were activated.  The Central Campbell
County Fire Department responded and along with DPS and Physical Plant personnel checked the
area finding no evidence of smoke or fire.  Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was
caused by a malfunctioning pre-action pressure switch.  The alarm was re-set, building re-opened for
occupancy and the scene cleared at 13:00 Hours.  Case closed....

Dispo: Unknown subject(s) damaged a computer, at the listed location, by removing several computer
related items.  During an interview with the reporting party, several of the removed computer items
were located.  The Incident remains under investigation....

Location: NUNN HALL - FIRST FLOOR - FIRE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire Alarm was received via the ESUSA Computer from the listed location.  Upon

Location: NUNN HALL - FIRST FLOOR - FIRE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE.  "Pre-Action Pressure" Alarm received from the listed location.  Several calls were
also received advising that audible alarms were sounding in the building.  The Central Campbell County
Fire Department and N.K.U. Maintenance personnel responded to the scene and checked the area.  It
was determined that the alarm was caused by the same malfunctioning pre-action pressure switch as
reported earlier (See Report #010506, Dated 8/10/2001 and Supplement, Dated 8/11/2001).   N.K.U.
Maintenance advised that repairs will be made ASAP on Monday 8/13/01.  Case closed....

Location: LANDRUM BUILDING - TUNNEL - FIRE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire Alarm received from the listed location via the ESUSA alarm computer.
Upon investigation is was discovered that the alarm was caused by work being done in the area.  The
Central Campbell County Fire Department and N.K.U. Maintenance responded and checked the area.
The alarm was reset and the building was reopened at 9:01am.  Case closed....

DISPO: Complaint received from a staff member in reference to a student that called and advised that
he was enroute to campus to discuss problems he was having registering for classes.   The staff member
advised that they have had problems with the student and his temper in the past.   Officer responded and
located the subject and spoke with him about the problems he was having.  The subject was advised not
to cause any further trouble and he left the area without further incident.  Case closed....

Dispo: Female Dorm resident observed with alcohol in an open container in her possession.   The subject
was issued a Kentucky State Citation for same.  The alcohol was confiscated and disposed of.  A copy
of the report will be forwarded to Residential Life and the Dean of Students for possible further
disciplinary action.  Case closed....

vehicles.  The employee stated that the wind break had been pulled down by the wind which caused
tree debris to damage the vehicle.  The vehicles driver was notified of the damage to the vehicle.

Dispo: Campbell County Police dispatched a Cold Spring Officer to County Square Shopping Center
reference a hit and run accident.  Vehicle Description was broadcasted by County Dispatch. N.K.U.
Officers located the vehicle parked at the listed location and advised Cold Spring Police.  Officers
observed a 1999-2000 N.K.U. Parking Permit on the vehicle which appeared to have been altered.
Subject was cited by N.K.U. Officers for possession of a forged instrument.  The altered parking
permit was confiscated.  Subject received a date to appear in Campbell County District Court. The
Cold Spring Officer obtained all necessary information for their accident report.  Case closed....

Altercation
Dispo: Officer responded to a verbal altercation at the listed location.  Upon arrival, Officer found a
Male and a Female subject arguing.  Officer spoke with both subjects and discovered that the altercation was a boyfriend/girlfriend dispute.  Each subject complained that they were being followed by the other and that they had business on campus.  Both subjects stated that they wanted the other arrested and on
how to avoid each others presence.  Officer stated that arrests were not warranted and were advised that
individual restraining orders could be filed at the County Attorney's Office.  Case closed at this time....

Location: PARKING LOT J - AUTO ACCIDENT-Hit and Run
Dispo: NO INJURIES. Male subject stated that he witnessed a Hit and Run Auto Accident at the listed
location. The complainant stated that a Gray Vehicle pulled into a parking space and while backing out hit
another vehicle. The vehicle was located in Parking Lot I. Officer located the vehicle driver and obtained
statements from both the witness and the driver. Officer left notification on the vehicle that was struck
requesting that the vehicle owner contact NKU DPS in reference to this incident. The case remains open
at this time.

Location: KENTON DRIVE AT THE ATM MACHINE - PROPERTY-Found/Recovered Property
Dispo: A VISA First Card/ATM Card was found at the listed location.  The Property was secured in the
D.P.S. Lost/Found Cabinet.  The Owner of the Property was contacted and will respond to the D.P.S.
Office to retrieve the Property.  Property Card #2491.  Case closed....

Location: A.S. & T. BUILDING NEAR B-E-P BUILDING - PROPERTY-Found/Recovered Property.
Dispo: A Set of Keys were found at the listed location.  The Property was secured in the D.P.S.
Lost/Found Cabinet.  Property Card #2492.  Case closed....

Location: DORMS-WILLOW - THIRD FLOOR - COMPLAINT RECEIVED
Dispo: Female stated that she was having problems with her roommate and the roommates visiting
friends.  The complainant stated that the friends had threatened to beat her up because she had
asked the friends to leave the apartment.  The complainant stated that she wanted to speak to someone
because she was afraid.  D.P.S. Officers along with Residential Life Personnel responded and spoke with
the complainant and the roommate.  The roommates friends were gone upon Officers and Residential Life
personnel arrival.  Statements were taken by Residential Life.  The Incident will be handled by the
Residential Life Office.  Case closed....

Report #010567    AUG 31 2001-Friday-11:19am
Location: 504 JOHNS HILL ROAD - SMOKE-Odor Of Smoke None Visible
Dispo: NO FIRE.  Female Employee reported the smell of smoke at the listed location following a
power surge in the area.  The N.K.U. Electrician responded along with a D.P.S. Officer.  Both units
checked the building finding no evidence of smoke or fire.  The complainant stated that exterminators
had sprayed the area on August 30th and that may have been what she was smelling.  The Central
Campbell County Fire Department was not notified.  Case closed....

Report #010568    AUG 31 2001-Friday-01:51pm
Location: NUNN DRIVE @ U.S. #27 - AUTO ACCIDENT-No Injuries.
Dispo: Campbell County Police Dispatch requested N.K.U. Police respond to the listed location for
a reported Auto Accident.  Upon arrival, N.K.U. Officer could not locate the accident.  The area was
checked and the accident was located at University and Kenton Drives.  NO INJURIES.  Two (2)
Vehicles involved.  Driver of Unit #1 stated that the brakes failed on their vehicle while attempting
to stop, causing the vehicle to strike Unit #2.  Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.  Unit #1 was
towed from the scene, Unit #2 remained in service.  Case closed....

Location: A.S.&T. BUILDING - SECOND AND THIRD FLOORS - ALARM-Intrusion Alarm
Dispo: Intrusion Alarms received from the listed locations.  D.P.S. Officer responded and checked the areas finding nothing out of the ordinary.  Officer spoke with Two (2) employees who stated that they
were not aware of any problems.  The cause of the alarm is undetermined at this time.  The case remains
open at this time....
