Report #010332    MAY 1 2001-Tuesday-03:26am
Location: DORMS - NORSE HALL - ALCOHOL RELATED INCIDENT
Dispo: Residential Life staff requested assistance with uncooperative residents in reference to a loud
noise complaint.  Residential Life staff advised that alcohol was also involved.   The four (4) subjects
in the room were cooperative with officers and had already disposed of the alcohol before the officers
arrived.  A copy of the report will be forwarded to Residential Life and the Dean of Students Office
for any further disciplinary action.  Case closed....

Location: CAMPBELL DRIVE @ UNIVERSITY DRIVE - TRAFFIC-Vehicle Stop
Dispo: Male subject was observed driving the wrong way on a one-way street.  The subject was issued
a Kentucky State citation for careless driving.   Case closed....


Report #010334    MAY 2 2001-Wednesday-05:15am
Location: UNIVERSITY CENTER - SECOND FLOOR - ALARM-Fire Alarm Drop
Dispo: NO FIRE. Officers on the scene advise that a "Smoke Detector" had activated at
the listed location. The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded to the scene
and along with DPS and NKU Maintenance personnel checked the area. The NKU Environmental
Safety Officer also responded to the scene. The alarm was re-set and the scene was cleared
at 05:30am.  Case closed....

Location: NUNN HALL - LOADING DOCK - MEDICAL RESPONSE-Squad
Dispo: N.K.U. Employee passed out at the listed location.  The N.K.U Nurse and the Central Campbell
County Squad responded to the scene and checked the subject.  The subject was transported by the
Central Campbell County Squad to St. Luke East Hospital for treatment.  Case closed....

Report #010338   MAY 3 2001-Thursday-02:36pm
Location: UNIVERSITY DRIVE @ B-E-P BUILDING - AUTO ACCIDENT-No Injuries
Dispo: NO INJURIES.  2 (two) vehicles involved.  Unit #2 (an N.K.U Pick-Up Truck)  was stalled and
in the roadway.  A passenger of Unit #2 was directing traffic around the vehicle, when Unit #1 got too
close to a trailer he was towing and struck it doing minor damage to both vehicles.   Case closed....

Location: DORMS - KENTUCKY HALL - COMPLAINT RECEIVED
Dispo: Taxicab Driver reported that a subject failed to pay the taxi fare owed.   Officers, along with
Residential Life personnel, located the subject.  The subject did make restitution to the Taxi Driver.  The
Driver declined to press charges once the fare was paid.  Officers also confiscated a bottle of alcohol that
was found in the cab.  Item was secured in the DPS Evidence Room.  Property Card #2248.  Case closed....

Location: HIGHLAND HEIGHTS KENTUCKY - MARTHA LAYNE COLLINS BLVD - ASSIST
OTHER AGENCY
Dispo: Highland Heights Police requested the assistance of an NKU Officer at the listed location for
Traffic Control.  The Central Campbell County Fire Department was on the scene of a Fully Engulfed
Vehicle Fire.  NKU Officer cleared the scene at 07:17am and returned to the campus.   Case closed....

Location: NKU WEST CAMPUS - WEST BUILDING - ALARM DROP
Dispo: Intrusion Alarm was received from the above location.  Covington Police Department responded
and checked the building.  All O.K.  The alarm was determined to be a system malfunction.  The monitoring
agency's service department will be notified to check the system and make repairs as needed.  Case
closed....

Dispo: Female Subject advised that she was ill and requested transportation to the hospital.  The N.K.U.
Nurse and the Central Campbell County Fire Department Squad responded to the scene and checked the
subject.  The subject was transported by the Squad to St.Luke Hospital - East for treatment.  Case
closed....

Dispo: Male subjects vehicle was stopped for disregarding a traffic control device - Stop Sign.  Subject was
arrested for Driving Under The Influence, 1st Degree, and Disregarding a Traffic Control Device.  The
Subject was issued a Kentucky State Citation and transported to the Campbell County Jail.   Case closed....

Location: FINE ARTS BUILDING - THIRD FLOOR GALLERY - SMOKE IN THE AREA
Dispo: Staff member advises that carpet at the listed location started smoldering as the result of a spark
that was caused when lighting was turned on in the area.  The subject advises that he was able to extinguish
the carpet before it started to flame.  The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and
checked the area.  All Units cleared the scene @ 08:43pm.  The electricians will be notified to check the
light circuit in the area.  Case closed....

Dispo: U-Haul Truck struck an unattended vehicle that was legally parked at the listed location and left
the scene.  There was a witness to the incident.   Investigation led to the identity of the driver of the
U-Haul Truck.  Case remains open at this time....

Location: ALBRIGHT HEALTH CENTER - FRONT DESK - COMPLAINT RECEIVED
Dispo: Campus Recreation employees reported that a Health Center guest had left a small child
unattended while working out.  Upon arrival, Officer located and spoke to the subject.  The subject
stated that if complaints were going to be made, the child/children would not be brought back to the
Health Center.  No charges were filed.  Campus Recreation staff also completed a report on this
incident.  Case closed....

Location: FINE ARTS BUILDING - FIRST FLOOR - COMPLAINT RECEIVED
Dispo: Male Faculty Member advised that subject(s) unknown "pried" open a storage locker at the
listed location.  The complainant stated that a pile of tools had been placed on a work table.  An
inventory of the storage locker was conducted.  It was determined that no theft had occurred.  There
was no other damage noticed at this location.  Case closed....

Location: NUNN HALL - 4TH & 5TH FLOORS - ALARM-Fire Alarm Drop
Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire alarm received, via computer, from the listed locations.   The Central Campbell
County Fire Department responded and along with D.P.S., Physical Plant personnel and the N.K.U.
Environmental Safety Officer checked the area finding no evidence of smoke or fire.   The alarm was
caused by a System Malfunction but would not re-set.  The N.K.U. Electricians were notified to check
the system and make necessary repairs.  The scene was cleared and the building re-opened for
occupancy at 1:00pm.  Case closed....

Dispo: Complaint received that a glass cover on a light fixture has been broken.  The damage appears to
have been caused by a thrown rock.  Case remains open at this time....

Taking Under $300
Dispo: Male subject advises that his cellular telephone is missing from the listed location.  The phone is
described as a (Dark Blue) Sprint Quallcomm Touchpoint 2100.  The serial number is not available at
this time.  The phone has been missing since approximately 11:15am on Thursday, May 17, 2001. 
Incident is under investigation....

Location: DORMS-WOODCREST SYCAMORE APARTMENTS - SECOND FLOOR - ALCOHOL-
Alcohol Related Incident
Dispo: Residential Life personnel requested an Officer respond to the listed location.   Upon arrival,
DPS was advised that Six (6) subjects were found with alcohol in a dorm room.  The alcohol was
confiscated by DPS and placed in the DPS Property Room.  The non-residents were instructed to leave
the premises and a designated driver  was appointed by the DPS Officer on the scene.   There were no
charges filed.  A copy of the report will be forwarded to the Dean of Students and Residential Life
Offices for possible disciplinary action against the dorm residents.  Case closed....

Dispo: Male advises that his 2000-2001 N.K.U. Staff Decal blew out of his vehicle.   Complainant was
referred to the Parking Office for a replacement.  Case closed....

PARKING LOT - ASSIST OTHER AGENCY-Assist Other Agency
Dispo: Campbell County Dispatch requested that an N.K.U. Officer stand at the listed location until a
Campbell County Police Officer arrives in reference to a possible stalking incident.   Upon arrival,
N.K.U. Officer obtained information from both subjects.  The information was given to the Highland
Heights Police Unit upon his arrrival.  The Incident was handled by the Highland Heights Unit.  Case
closed....

Location: PARKING LOT M - MOTORIST ASSIST & MEDICAL RESPONSE-Squad
Dispo: Female advised that her Sixteen month old grandson locked himself inside her vehicle with
her car keys inside.  Officers were unable to gain access to the vehicle with a slim-jim and with the
owners permission had to break a window to get the child out.  As a result of breaking the window an
N.K.U. Officer suffered a cut to his wrist.  The Central Campbell County Squad was dispatched to the
scene and checked and cleaned the cut.   They advised that it did not appear to need stitches.  Case
closed....

Dispo: Male subject advises that his Nokia cellular telephone was taken from his vehicle at the listed
location.  The telephone was entered into the LINK/NCIC Computer.  The subject called back on
05/27/01 and stated that his phone had been located.  The phone was removed from the LINK/NCIC
Computer.  Case closed....

Dispo: Vehicle was stopped for disregarding a traffic control device (a flashing red light).  Female
was issued a warning for the traffic control device and a Kentucky State Citation for no proof of
insurance and no registration receipt.  Case closed....

Dispo: Residential Life staff report that a Phone Card vending machine is missing from the listed
location.  The machine has been missing since 5/24/01.  Incident is under investigation....
