Location: PARKING LOT M - TRAFFIC-Vehicle Stop
Dispo: Vehicle was observed disregarding a stop sign at Kenton Drive at Carroll Drive. The vehicle was
stopped at the listed location. Male driver was issued a Kentucky State Citation for disregarding  a
traffic control device-stop sign and no proof of insurance. The subject also received a date to appear in
Campbell County District Court.

Dispo: A 1993 Jeep Cherokee (Red) was located with a forged NKU Student Parking Permit. The vehicle
owner was located and questioned. The permit was confiscated and placed into evidence. The subject was
issued a Kentucky State Citation for Criminal Possession of  a Forged Instrument-3rd Degree and received
a date to appear in Campbell County District Court.

Harrassing Communications
Dispo: Female subject came to DPS Office to report problems with a male subject. She stated that she
knows the subject from high school. The complainant stated that the male shows up on campus, coming
to her room, and also calls her on the telephone. The complainant states they never had a relationship
and does not want any contact with him now. The complainant wished to file a restraining order against
the subject. The complainant was directed to the Campbell County Attorney's Office in reference to the
restraining order. The incident remains open and under Investigation.

Location: PARKING LOT G - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF-3rd Degree
Dispo: Male subject came to DPS Office to report that tires on his vehicle had been slashed. The
complainant stated that both tires on the passenger side and one on the driver's side had been damaged.
The complainant parked his vehicle at the listed location and walked his girlfriend to class. At this time,
her ex-boyfriend drove by yelling her name. The complainants did not speak to him, continuing on to her
class. Upon returning to the vehicle, the damage was discovered. There has been previous contact between
the subjects that has involved other local police agencies. The incident remains open and under Investigation.

Dispo: Female subject came to DPS Office to report that her 2001-2002 NKU Student Parking Permit was
taken from her vehicle. The complainant stated that the decal was last seen on approximately September
26, 2001. The complainant was referred to the Parking Office for a replacement. The incident remains
under Investigation.

Location: A.S. &T. BUILDING - FIRST FLOOR-WOMEN'S RESTROOM - THEFT BY UNLAWFUL
TAKING-Under $300
Dispo: Female subject reported that while she was in restroom, at the listed location,   a subject removed
her bookbag from the shelf. The complainant stated that the book bag, cream-colored, contained four (4)
books, two (2) calculators and personal items. The NKU Bookstore and Campus Book and Supply were
alerted to the theft. The NKU Physical Plant Office was alerted to have the custodial personnel notify DPS
should they find a discarded book bag. At 11:50am, Campus Book and Supply reported that a female subject
had sold them four (4) books matching the descripton of the stolen books. The books were turned over to DPS.
At 01:02pm, NKU Dispatch was notified, by the Physical Plant Office, that a book bag was found in the
A.S. &T Building. DPS Officer confirmed that the book bag belonged to the complainant. A description of a
possible suspect and vehicle was obtained from the complainant and the Campus Book and Supply personnel.
The incident remains open and under Investigation.

Dispo: Male subject came to DPS Office to report that his bicycle was taken from the listed location. The
complainant stated that he was staying overnight with a friend in Norse Hall on Thursday October 25th.
Upon leaving, the next morning, the bicycle was missing. The complainant could not advise whether he had
locked the bicycle to the bike rack or not. Brand Name of the bicycle is unknown. There are no suspect(s)
identified at this time. The incident remains under Investigation.

Dispo: Several University Employees reported a strange odor at the listed location. The complainants advised
that the odor smelled like "burning rubber". The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and
checked the area with negative results. Upon investigation, the fire deaprtment believed that the odor could
have been drawn through the ventilation air handlers from outside the building. At this time, roofing repair
work was being done on Nunn Hall. The contractors were using "Black Tar" to make the repairs to the roof.
The scene was cleared at 05:20pm.

Location: NUNN DRIVE AT UNIVERSITY DRIVE - TRAFFIC-Vehicle Stop
Dispo: DPS Officer conducted a Traffic Stop on a vehicle at the listed location. The vehicle was observed
striking a parked vehicle in Parking Lot Q, then leaving the scene. The Male driver was questioned
regarding the incident. During questionng, it was discovered that the subject had no driver's license in his
possession and could not produce proof of insurance. Following questioning the subject was arrested, issued a
Kentucky State Citation - charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, No Driver's License and No
Insurance, and transported to the Campbell County Jail. The subject's vehicle was towed to impound by
Rees-Hardy Towing.

HANG-UP
Dispo: Dispatch received a hang up call on the emergency line x-7777 from the listed
location.  The line was busy on call back.  Responding officers could not get an answer at
the door after knocking several times and entered the room to check it.  Resident was inside
on the phone and advised they did not call D.P.S. or hear knocking at the door.   Everything
checked "O.K." inside.  Case closed....

Dispo: Female staff member advised that she had received an anonymous letter advising
that a student may have possibly used a white powder during a speech to a class and told
them that it was Anthrax.  The complainant was advised that D.P.S. had not received any
prior reports in reference to a student doing this.  Case closed....

Dispo: Male reported that his vehicle had been broken into and several items were taken.  
The complaint stated that a radar detector and six (6) CD's were taken.  Complainant could
not advise the serial number, make or model of the detector, nor could he provide the titles of
the missing CD's.  He stated that the incident occurred between 8:30pm (10/26/01) and 10:00am
(10/27/01).  Incident remains under investigation....

paid. The owner also paid the towing company's "show up" fee.  The vehicle was then released.

Dispo: Female subject was observed operating a vehicle with expired license plates.  The
vehicle was stopped at the listed location and during questioning,  it was discovered that
the subject was also operating the vehicle with a suspended operators license (Suspension
Order Issued on 10/23/2001) and while under the influence of alcohol. The subject was arrested,
transported to and lodged in the Campbell County Jail.  The subject's vehicle was impounded at
the D.P.S. Office Parking Lot.  Case remains open at this time....

Dispo: Male employee at the listed location, reported receiving a suspicious letter. The
complainant had placed the letter in a plastic bag prior to the Officer's arrival.  The letter had
no return address, was bulky and had a "threatening" label on it. The letter was brought to the
D.P.S. Office and later was taken to the Kentucky Public Health Lab in Frankfort for further
analysis.  The incident remains under investigation....

Dispo: Male subject reported that while driving his vehicle through the listed location an
unknown male subject was standing in the middle of the lot.  As he drove past, the subject
struck his vehicle with his book bag smashing the windshield.  The subject then ran inside the
A.S.&T. Building.  Officers were not able to locate the subject.  The subject is described as
follows: Male, White, pale complexion, small  nose, 6'1'',  heavy set, dark brown hair and
glasses, wearing a black leather coat, black pants and had a black book bag.  Under
investigation....

moderate damage and Unit #2 suffered minor damage.  Both vehicles remained in service.

Location: DORMS/COMMONWEALTH HALL/RIVER/THIRD FLOOR/E-WING -
SANCTIONED SUBJECT ON CAMPUS
Dispo: Male complainant called D.P.S. to report that a sanctioned subject was at that location.
Upon arrival, the subject was located and questioned. The subject was placed under arrest and
charged with Criminal Trespassing.  An additional charge of Resisting Arrest was placed on the
subject, due to a struggle that occurred between the subject and the arresting officers. The
subject was transported to St. Luke Hospital - East for evaluation of a possible injury, as a
result of the struggle.  Results were negative.  Following evaluation, the subject was
transported to the Campbell County Jail.  Copies of this report were forwarded to Residential
Life and the Dean of Students Offices.  The incident remains open at this time....

Dispo: Female subject reported the following: Subject borrowed a friends vehicle to do errands.
Subject drove the vehicle off campus and turned the vehicle off.  When the subject returned to
the vehicle it would not start.  The owner was notified and responded to the location. Upon
arrival, owner stated it was not her vehicle.  The registered vehicle owner stated that nothing
was missing from the vehicle and the vehicle was not damaged.  The vehicle was returned to it's
owner.  No charges were filed, the incident is considered closed....

Under $300
Dispo: Female subject  reported that she left a Blue Box, Red Bag and a Red Jacket at the
listed location.  The complainant stated that when she returned to claim the items they were
gone. A search of the area was conducted, negative results. At 4:58pm, the complainant reported
that the items had been recovered.  The theft report was classified as unfounded and the incident
is closed....

Location: DORMS-NORSE HALL - FIRST FLOOR - FIRE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire Alarm received from the listed location via the ESUSA Fire Computer.
The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and along with the N.K.U. Power
Plant, Environmental Safety Officer and D.P.S. Officers checked the area.  Upon Investigation,
it was determined that a Fire Pull Station had been activated by subject(s) unknown.  There was
no evidence of any smoke or fire.  The alarm was re-set, building cleared for re-occupancy and

Complainant stated that her ex-boyfriend had bought her a vehicle and since they are now not
together will not give her the keys.  The Officer later spoke with the ex-boyfriend who stated
that the vehicle was mutually bought between them.  Since paperwork for the vehicle has only
the females name on it, he was advised to return the keys to the complainant.  The subject later
refused to give the keys to the complainant.  The complainant was unsure whether she would

Dispo: NO FIRE.  Fire alarm received from the listed location via the ESUSA Fire Computer.
N.K.U. Power Plant personnel and The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded to
the scene.  The alarm was caused by a fog machine that was being used for the play that was
going on at the time.  The alarm was reset and the building cleared for occupancy at 4:47pm.

was sustained to each vehicles.  Both vehicles remained in service.  Case closed....

evidence.  The subject was issued a Kentucky State Citation for Criminal Possession of a Forged
Instrument-3rd Degree and received a date to appear in Campbell County District Court.   Case

Dispo: University Employee reported that a construction truck had run over the stop sign, at this
location, snapping the pole.  Upon arrival, Officer spoke to the driver who stated that while
attempting to back into the construction area struck the sign with the backside of a flat-bed
trailer.  N.K.U. Grounds Services were notified and replaced the pole and the sign. There was no
damage done to the vehicle.  Case closed....

suspects and herself.  A report was taken by the Residential Life personnel.  The case

RECEIVED
Dispo: A library employee reported a possible theft from the listed location.  Upon arrival,
Officers were informed that a male subject tried to leave the library with several books.  The
subject is not a current student and is not authorized to check out library books.  Library
personnel noticed that security tags had been removed from the books when the subject brought
the books to the check-out counter.  The subject denied removing the tags and left the area when
informed that the Police had been called.  The incident remains under investigation....

Dispo: Female complainant came to Headquarters with a Female subject requesting to
voluntarily commit herself for a 72 Hour psychiatric observation.  Subject advised that she
suffers from bulimia and has recently began self-mutilating herself.  Subject stated that the
N.K.U. Counselors have met with her before but that she feels they cannot help her.  The
Central Campbell County Squad responded and transported the subject to St. Elizabeth Hospital  -
South for treatment.  Case closed....

Location: NUNN & UNIVERSITY DRIVE - AUTO ACCIDENT-No Injuries
Dispo: NO INJURIES.  1 Automobile (Unit #1) and 1 motorcycle (Unit #2) involved.  Unit #1 turned
left in front of Unit #2 causing Unit #2 to have to stop suddenly.  Unit #2 then lost control and slid
on its side causing moderate damage to Unit #2.  The driver of Unit #2 suffered minor injuries, but
refused a squad.  Both units remained in service.   The case remains open at this time....

Dispo: NO INJURIES.  N.K.U. Maintenance reported a small fire at the listed location.  The N.K.U.
Environmental Safety Officer and the Central Campbell County Fire Department responded.  The fire
was extinguished by the Central Campbell County Fire Department.  The booth was not manned at the
time.  The fire appears to have originated in a trash can inside the booth.  Damage was contained
to the trash can.  Case remains open at this time....
