Location: DORMS/UNIVERSITY SUITES - FIRST FLOOR - SMOKE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE. A Smoke Alarm was received, via the ESUSA Computer, from the listed location. The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and along with DPS Officers and NKU Physical Plant personnel checked the area finding no evidence of smoke or fire. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm activated when food had been burnt in a toaster oven. The alarm was reset, building cleared for re-occupancy and scene cleared at 02:14pm. The State Fire Marshal's Office was notified, via E-Mail. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm activated when water entered a smoke detector. It was later discovered that residents, at that location had a  "squirt gun" fight and had squirted water into the smoke detector by accident. Rees-Hardy Towing was dispatched to the location to tow the vehicle. Prior to the tow, the motorcycle owner arrived and paid the wrecker show-up fee. Citation was issued for parking in the Fire Lane. Dispo: Male subject requested assistance in starting his vehicle. Upon arrival Officer requested Ownership verification, prior to assisting, and was advised that the subject was wanted on an Outstanding Warrant out of Kenton County. The subject was arrested, transported and lodged in the Campbell County Jail. During the investigation, several other items were observed in the vehicle. Items were confiscated, logged and secured in
the DPS Property/Evidence Room. The subjects vehicle was then secured and towed to impound. (See Report #030656 for a related incident). CLOSED - ARREST

Power Plant personnel arrived on the scene, applied water to the area and extinguished the smoldering mulch. Dispo: University Grounds Services employee struck a vehicle parked at this location while operating a University lawnmower. Upon arrival, Officers observed a 1991 Chevrolet had incurred minor damage and remained in service. Vehicle owner  was determined but attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. A message was left to contact DPS regarding this incident. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

Dispo: NO FIRE. A Smoke Alarm received, via the ESUSA Computer, from the listed location. The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and along with DPS and NKU Physical Plant personnel checked the area finding NO evidence of smoke or fire. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by contractors working in the building. Construction personnel had removed a cover to a Smoke Detector, allowing dust to enter the detector. The alarm was re-set, building cleared for re-entry and scene cleared at 9:20am. State Fire Marshal notified by E-mail. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

Location: NATURAL SCIENCE BUILDING - SIXTH FLOOR-PENTHOUSE - FIRE ALARM
Dispo: NO FIRE. A Fire Alarm was received, via the ESUSA Computer, from the listed  location. The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and along with DPS Officers and NKU Physical Plant personnel checked the area finding NO Fire, but did find Smoke in the building. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm activated when an elevator became stuck causing the elevator motor to overheat, creating the smoke. The alarm was re-set, building re-secured and the scene cleared at 3:21am. The State Fire Marshal's Office was notified by phone, at the time of the incident, and by E-Mail at 6:23 am. Elevator Service Technician will by notified by the NKU Physical Plant department. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

Dispo: Female subject fell, at the listed location, injuring her left leg. The Central Campbell County Squad was dispatched to this location. Prior to the squad's arrival, DPS Officer applied first-aid to the subject. Upon the Squad's arrival, Squad personnel provided additional medical treatment and transported the subject to St. Elizabeth Hospital - South for further treatment. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

The Central Campbell County Fire Department responded and along with DPS and NKU Physical Plant personnel checked the area finding No Fire but a heavy presence of a "smoke-like" substance. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm activated when a film-making crew  used a fog making machine while filming a
production. The alarm was re-set, building cleared for re-occupancy and the scene cleared at 9:29am. The State Fire Marshal's Office was notified, via E-Mail. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL

DPS Officers responded, and were met by a Physical Plant crew that was working in the building, and checked the area finding NO evidence of smoke or  fire. Upon investigation, it was believed that the alarm had originated in the area of the swimming pool. It appeared that "sand blasting" work had created excess dust, causing the smoke alarm to activate. The alarm was re-set, building re-secured and scene cleared at 1:17am. NKU Power Plant personnel advised that they would notify the NKU Environmental Safety Officer. The State Fire Marshal's Office was notified, via E-Mail. CLOSED - NON-CRIMINAL
