Northern's main campus is situated on 356 acres of rolling countryside along U.S. Highway 27, seven miles southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio. Its western campus is located in Covington, Kentucky, three miles south of Cincinnati. Northern's location places it in the largest metropolitan area of all the state universities in Kentucky; the Greater Cincinnati area has a population of over 1,744,000.
