Professional Development Recognition Program 

The Professional Development Recognition (PDR) program is designed to recognize and reward staffs who have demonstrated a commitment to professional training and development, exceptional work skills, and meritorious performance for a period of five years in their current position.   To receive this recognition, which includes a 2.5% salary increase, employees must be recommended by their respective Department Heads.  The date of the monetary reward will be effective with the first full pay period after January 1 each year. 

Eligibility Criteria:

Full-time staff, including regular, contract and grant employees.

Part-time staff, including regular, contract and grant employees, who average 20 hours per week.

All classifications, 10-26, which include service, maintenance, skilled crafts, technical, office/clerical, and professional.

Eligible staff must have served in the same position for a period of five years without a promotion, a reclassification of the position, or a break in service.

After the first year of the program, employees become eligible at the completion of 5, 10, 15…years of employment in the same position.

During the five-year period, no disciplinary issues may have been brought against the employee.

Annual performance reviews must be on file for the five-year period.

Procedure:

Recommendation for the PDR is designed to be a selective, not automatic process; failure to receive a recommendation for the program cannot be grieved by the employee.

The following is a list of suggested, not inclusive or required, documentation; additional performance criteria, specific to particular position, may be included.  Documentation, appropriate for the eligible staff position, is required.
