GRANT/CONTRACT EMPLOYMENT

Q 1

Benefits

Fringe benefits are funded by the grant/contract and are the same as those provided to institutionally funded and similarly situated employees. These benefits are detailed in Section H, Section P, and Section T.

Q 2

Leaves and Absences

Q 2.1

Vacation

Twelve-month grant/contract employees accrue full, normal vacation based on their employment categorizations, as specified in Section B. If the grant/contract is renewed, unused vacation (not to exceed what can be accrued in 18 months) may be carried over into the new contract period; however, no terminal vacation for unused vacation will be paid, as grants provide no funds for such payments. When the grant/contract is for a period of less than twelve months the employee does not accrue vacation.

Q 2.2

Temporary Disability

Sick leave will accrue at the rate of one day per month for each month of the grant/contact. Unused sick leave may be carried over if the grant/contract is renewed and the employee is retained.

Q 2.3

Other Leaves

All other leaves and absences, described at Section F, are the same for grant/contract employees as for institutionally funded and similarly situated employees.

Q 3

Termination

All grant/contract employees will terminate at the expiration of the grant/contract, and are required to comply with regular termination clearance procedures, described at H 25.
