Faculty Rosters for fall semester 2007 are due on November 26.

The Digital Measures Activity Insight system is now in place at NKU. This system will collect data on faulty/staff teaching, scholarship, and service activites and will produce reports on various activities. Digital Measures will be of immediate use in producting the Faculty Roster Forms required for the SACS reaffirmation project.

To access Digital Measures and the training materials that will get you started, go to the following link: http://access.nku.edu/sacs/tools_login.html Faculty and staff who are teaching during the Fall of 2007 are asked to access the system and training materials this week in order to review data that has been entered for them. Faculty and staff who are not teaching this fall may access the system at their convenience.

You’ll find that Digital Measures is very easy to use while providing you with 24/7 access to record your various activities. Future communications will keep you informed on all that is happening with the implementation of Digital Measures!

Starting in fall semester 2007 and continuing each academic term in the future, NKU's Faculty Rosters will be prepared using Digital Measures Activity Insight software. Click here for more information on the Faculty Roster form.

Digital Measures Timeline

Week of November 5-  Faculty and staff teaching courses during Fall 2007 will review and revise as necessary their Yearly Data, Education and Scheduled Teaching that has been entered into DM for them. Complete by November 12.  (See instructions in training materials.)

Weeks of November 12 and 19- Department Chairs review data for faculty in DM and write “other qualifications” as needed for faculty.  Chairs should identify any faculty not in DM. Chairs prepare faculty rosters for their departments by November 26.  (See training materials.) Chairs are asked to notify Connie Kiskaden kiskadenc@nku.edu  when their rosters are complete.

November 27- SACS Office will run the Faculty Roster for the entire university, except for the College of Business which will run its Roster.  (Note:  College of Business and university DM systems will be merged in the next month or two.  After the merger, one complete Faculty Roster for Fall 2007 will be produced by the SACS Office.)

November/December- After reviewing Education, Scheduled Teaching and Yearly Data, faculty should review any other data that students were able to enter for them, and then enter their other activities and information into DM.  Faculty and staff who are not teaching during Fall 2007 may access DM at their convenience and enter their data.

After completion of the Faculty Rosters, department chairs are asked to review data screens and determine if there are other data they would like collected on a department level; determine reports that they would like DM to build (and determine data that needs to be collected for those reports.)  This information should be provided to Molly Tami tamim1@nku.edu

Training Materials: A complete training guide to using Digital Measures is available at:
http://access.nku.edu/sacs/training_materials.html.

Assistance/Questions:   During the initial implementation period, all questions or requests for assistance related to entry of data should be directed to Molly Tami (X7631), while all technical questions should be directed to Connie Kiskaden (X5393).  In person consultations for department chairs and their faculty are available upon request.  After the initial implementation period, the Help Desk will handle all inquiries.

"The emphasis is on overall qualifications rather than simply academic credentials and that, while academic credentials are primary and in most cases will be the standard qualification for faculty members, other types of qualifications may prove to be appropriate."
